Log in to your Zip Merchant Dashboard.
Select Create Order
Enter the following details:
Customer in-app barcode: The customer will generate this by selecting Pay in their Zip app, choosing the account they wish to use (Zip Pay, Zip Plus or Zip Money) then selecting Generate barcode
Price: Enter the total price of the order
Product: based on the in-app barcode, this will auto populate
Interest free period: Select the applicable interest-free term if the customer is using Zip Money
Reference: Add an internal reference number
4. Click Create Order
5. The customer must confirm the order in their Zip app to finalise payment.
Once the customer confirms, you will get a confirmation on your screen. The order will appear as Completed in your Order Search tab — and you’re all set!
In-app barcode tip: When a green tick appears, it means the customer has provided a valid in-app barcode. If you see a red error, the code is invalid. This can happen for a few reasons:
The code has expired — it’s only valid for 5 minutes. The customer can simply generate a new one in their Zip app.
The customer’s account is locked or linked exclusively to another merchant. They’ll need to contact Zip Customer Experience for assistance.
